According to the most recent WebWatch report, both The Switch and Nanny McPhee Returns are having a tough time making a dent online among unreleased films. McPhee holds only a 1.22% market share of opinions, while The Switch represents 1.17%. That puts both films well behind the likes of Vampires Suck (18.46%), Lottery Ticket (7.22%) and Piranha 3D (5.23%).
Considering that late August is usually a dumping ground, expectations are not high for McPhee or The Switch. Still, the fact that they are trailing other newcomers so close to release is not a good sign.
McPhee is the only film opening this weekend that is good for the whole family, which means it won't have much direct competition. As for The Switch, it'll have a tough time escaping the shadow of holdover Eat Pray Love in order to gain the attention of female moviegoers.
