According to the most recent WebWatch report for theatrical trailers, Unstoppable's first preview holds a weak 3.53% market share of online opinions. The film itself represents only a .91% market share of opinions among unreleased films.
This is not a great start for the latest Tony Scott/Denzel Washington collaboration. Luckily, the film doesn't hit theaters until November 12, so 20th Century Fox still has plenty of time to rebound. Plus, Unstoppable still ranks ahead of fellow Nov. 12 releases Skyline (.64%) and Morning Glory (.05%). Both Skyline and Morning Glory have released trailers.
It's possible moviegoers will find that Unstoppable feels far too similar to The Taking of the Pelham 1 2 3, which Scott and Washington remade together last summer. Pelham took place on subway, Unstoppable is on a train. The challenge will be to show clear differences between the two.
