'Nightmare' Continues to Drop Fast

On what will be its last day in first place, A Nightmare on Elm Street fell an unhealthy 11 percent. The reboot needed to grab as much cash as possible this week before the emergence of Iron Man 2, and instead it dropped like a stone.

Daily declines in general were pretty steep on Thursday as moviegoers across the country began to make plans for IM2.

How to Train Your Dragon is still going strong, and it finished in second place on Thursday. The animated adventure will easily hit the $200 million domestic plateau this weekend. Dragon still remains the strongest option for family audiences with young children.

Furry Vengeance rebounded a little bit on Thursday after suffering a deadly 27 percent drop from Tuesday to Wednesday. The Brendan Fraser vehicle is showing no staying power at all, and it will be out of theaters soon enough thanks to the rush of summer blockbusters.
