In an interview in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Douglas breaks the silence to discuss his battle with cancer. Despite reports to the contrary, the Oscar-winning actor is in relatively good shape considering what he's been through. His trademark voice hasn't been destroyed as a result of his extensive treatments.
"After all the adversity I've had this year," says Douglas, "with my health and my son's incarceration, my ex-wife and the lawsuit -- to be able to sit here and talk to you, I'm so happy."
Douglas is generating Oscar buzz for his performances in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Solitary Man.
